This is INCREDIBLE.

All the critics of the latest Taylor Swift album that aren’t critical of it are calling her body of work universally relatable am I crazy or what?
I don’t find her work relatable at all. I see her singing about being the homely outcast girl looking at the cheerleader’s boyfriend and wishing she could have him, like, while looking like the platonic ideal of a white nationalist’s wife. She exudes girl that was mean to you in high school but manages to twist the story so she’s always the victim.
What are the major media outlets and their reviewers smoking?? Just because all your teenage daughters listen to it doesn’t mean it’s good or universally relatable.
I mean I have an extra chip on my shoulders because she wasted public funds on being my mayor for a day but Christ
Her music isn’t good? It has nothing. Truly catchy in it, so that when you hear it on the radio you’re like, damn that’s good. It’s calculated down to the point of banality. Is there some collective psychosis going around or have the reviewers just drunk the Kool-Aid?? I’m so confused
Being haunted by phrase “unknown lover” what is it referring to
On a related note, I listened to Laufey for the first time this week and it is so damn beautiful but the lyrics make me physically ill.
It kills me every time that that part of Messy by Lola Young never rhymes. Where the hell you’ve been with the line that ends with clean. People say it like that, you wrote it like that. Please just say been like clean. I even went and listened to the whole song just to make sure that I’m not hallucinating.
that’s a happy ending, kindness in action can do some good here and there.

[Me since 2022:] oh you know I’m doing fine… haven’t logged into Instagram on purpose, healthy living, haha, got a pay rise this year! Definitely not literally tearing up every time I hear this song even when it’s on repeat.

“Poetry outlasts everything. It’s a primeval spirit. It’s probably the firs speech. It comes with speech. It’s what children do, when they play first with their words. And it comes from nowhere, and it always goes on. And there’s no way to lose it, but people don’t know how to find it. People think they don’t know how to read it, and that they don’t have any need for it. Maybe they don’t have any need for it. I don’t know. The world has poetry inside it anyway.”
